Users felt confident in engaging in the app if it had ratings and reviews.
The interviewees talked about how they would use an app like this to learn about home renovations and advance in their current line of work.
Several people said that experts and users should be reprimanded if they are not abiding by the rules and regulations.
Research Goals
Results
I set up the perfect interview setting with the fewest possible interruptions. I prepared my scripts and consent forms for recording five minutes in advance. Participants seemed at ease and interested in the project, in my opinion.
User Interviews

Users need a way to access information and interact with an expert who could help them in an area with which they are not too familiar. Interacting with an expert will help them gain confidence and achieve success in any task they are doing.
We will know this to be true when users give feedback on positive interactions and growth mindsets they have gained using the app.
Problem Statement

To understand the market landscape, I analyzed two major competitors: JustAnswer and PrestoExperts.
Strengths: Quick access to verified experts across multiple fields.
Weaknesses: Lack of transparency in pricing and terms of service.
Opportunities: Implementing clearer pricing models and user reviews for trust.
Threats: Competitors offering similar services with more transparent pricing.
Strengths: Instant one-on-one consultations with professionals.
Weaknesses: No solid proof of service effectiveness or strong user endorsements.
Opportunities: Leveraging AI-driven matchmaking and customer testimonials.
Threats: A confusing user experience that may drive users to competitors.
Key Takeaways
Both platforms provide expert access but struggle with pricing clarity and user trust. Enhancing transparency, usability, and credibility can offer a competitive edge.

Conducting Usability Testing

Participants
Usability testing is a key process in UX design that evaluates how easy and intuitive a product is for users. It involves observing real users as they interact with the product. I used expert app prototype to identify usability issues and areas for improvement.
Goals
App Objectives
Participants will individually engage in 10-15 minute usability test sessions. All 5 participants will be given a basic understanding of the app. As such through the script and given the tasks/scenarios to perform.
Equipment
Testing will be carried out through Figma Prototype and recording will be done with Google Recorder or Voice recorder & Voice Memos, Lastly, screen recorder.
We’re hoping the study tests the user interface and functionality of an expert advice app, Allowing users to search for experts, ask questions, and use AI for tailored recommendations. Thus, enabling anyone, anywhere to instantly chat with an expert in virtually any field.
-Assess whether participants are understanding what the app for and smooth navigation.
